There are three common Freestyle Misconceptions:
1) the non-breathing head position – swimmers are often instructed to look straight down – it is more effective to look ahead at a 45o angle
2) arm coordination (IdC) – swimmers are often instructed to use “catch-up” coordination – it is more effective to use a positive IdC
3) elbow flexion at the beginning of the pull – swimmers are often instructed to use a straight arm – it is more effective to flex the elbow
