Swimming coaches typically face constraints that make it difficult to adequately emphasize technique. Staff and facility shortages limit the individual attention that is so important to improving technique. The purpose of this paper is to present information about how to expand the typical instructional process with minimal impact on logistics.
A complete program for improving technique includes sessions dedicated to both instruction and analysis. In addition, a combination of classroom and pool sessions provides different and essential learning environments. Swimmers benefit the most from a cyclical process that combines all the vital educational components that increase the chances of optimizing technique.
